Twigs & honey bride featured in Southern Weddings blog

So sorry about the nonexistent posts this past week! It may seem like the wedding season is winding down, but it's actually picked up for me so I'm working harder and faster than ever to get all the time sensitive pieces finished (approximately 569 pieces to go!). As always, thank you so much to everyone for your patience!! I truly appreciate it! I often get asked if I have any hired help... Nope! Not yet! It's a 1 woman show at the moment. I sometimes get some help from my hubby to help with photos though. For the longest time, I took all the photos myself without a tripod/timer (yes, many outstretched arm poses). Can you believe it? ANYHOW, we finally got a tripod a couple weeks or so ago so that has helped tremendously. But for the most part, it's just me - emailing, convo'ing, building, photographing, listing, press, etc...

I'm hoping to do a few accessory posts this week or next and will try to get more general blogging in the schedule too, I promise!

Just to tie you over, hop on over to view a beautiful feature from Southern Weddings blog. It features the wedding of Amy & Andy. I actually got to meet Amy in person in early summer to handoff her hair piece. I don't get to do that often, so it was so nice and refreshing to meet a lovely bride face-to-face. Thank you so much, Amy! Congratulations!! See their wedding here.

I just couldn't resist but post a couple of the most gorgeous photos! It's oh, only 3 a.m. in the morning (if you factor in daylight savings) and I'm still plugging away as usual, but I simply had to leak some photos. I'm going to post more about this later. This photo was for a shoot for fashion designer, Dorothy Moore of sumomo suki and the photos were taken by the talented Peter Walkowiak of Peter W Photo and Sade Williams of Black Boxx Photography. Check back soon for more!

Weekend :: getting caught up with twigs & honey orders

Posted on | Saturday, March 8, 2008 | 2 Comments

My sweet and patient husband is certainly missing his new wife lately! So, yes. We have been missing our movie nights and road trips as I have become so busy creating custom twigs & honey pieces. Thank goodness Matt is so understanding! We've also been busy looking for a new home and putting offers in. I have not been to Anthropoligie in weeks! That is always the best indication that I have other priorities. ;)

I hope to get mostly caught up on custom orders this weekend and by that I mean that I still have a huge list, but will be on pace to finish each piece on time. It is so rewarding working with so many great women from all over the world. I'm also attaching a photo my better half snapped of just a few of the orders I'll be shipping out on Monday. Two of the pieces are making their way around the world for a Singapore wedding. How very cool is the thought of that? Please continue to check back for shop updates and twigs & honey progress. Thank you for your continued interest and convo me in Etsy with any questions or order requests! I should also mention that Dorothy Moore, the oh so lovely and talented designer of sumomo suki, has sent some wonderful photos of some twigs & honey pieces from a recent photo shoot for her fabulous line. Photos are courtesy of the talented Sade Williams of Black Boxx Photography and Peter Walkowiak of Peter W Photo. I'll post some of those absolutely gorgeous photos in my next post. Check back soon! You're going to die, they are so lovely. :) Oh, I also wanted to add that the fabulous dress I'm wearing is a custom creation from Leanimal. Thank you Leanne!

I, like so many out there, am a self described pack rat. Every snippet of ribbon, length of thread, button, and broken sand dollar, I hoard because someday, I'll need it (right?). Well, as for my hair pieces, I develop these little attachments to each one and always wonder, "Did they arrive to the customer okay?" OR "I wonder what adventure it will be taken on?" Recently, I was fortunate to have a wonderfully talented photographer purchase a piece from my Etsy shop. This particular piece happened to be a personal favorite of mine and I was so tickled to see photos of its arrival to Laura Ryan Photography. Laura just so happens to be this amazing photographer (any interested brides - check her out!) and was so kind to snap a handful of photos and send them my way. I am so happy that this piece found its way into the talented hands of Laura! I know she'll take care of my hearted piece and did I mention, Laura is super sweet to boot?! Well, after seeing the twigs & honey piece so nicely cared for already, I feel the grip on my trinkets and odds and ends slightly loosening. Perhaps I shouldn't be so attached after all? I do believe that all the pieces are going to develop wonderful stories with each person who takes one home! Memories, really, to last a lifetime. Thank you Laura Ryan Photography! To all the special brides and ladies who have already or will purchase a piece, send photos when you get the chance! I'd love to see them! Thank you ahead of time.

twigs & honey :: by myra :: New piece in shop!

Posted on | Tuesday, February 26, 2008 | 1 Comment

Just a shop twigs & honey announcement:

After many inquiries about when I'd be listing a new piece in my shop, I made a new one yesterday between orders and have posted it in my Etsy shop. Please check it out! I think it's absolutely darling with baby blues and yellow. It is absolutely perfect for spring (as it was inspired by a random sunny day here in Oregon - land of perpetual rain!). Please convo me if you are interested in a custom order!

Just a twigs & honey shop update...

I've currently sold out of all my shop pieces! I'm still taking custom orders so be sure to convo me in Etsy if you are interested in a piece!

I wanted to mention that I'll be posting a new shop piece tonight (maybe around 9-11pm Pacific time) in my Etsy shop. It was the one I created special for a wedding event (check out paulrichstudio.blogspot.com). I'm wearing it in the photo above.

I am going to try to create more pieces/inventory sometime toward the end of the week or the weekend. Check back!! If you can't wait, convo me and we can come up with a custom piece!

Thank you!

So here it is! My first blog entry. I'll be posting in my blog, any updates such as shop updates, press updates, and general thoughts and maybe fashion ideas. I suppose the sky is the limit! I'm very excited to have started this blog in conjunction with my twigs & honey line.
