In love with pink.

So the skin on my fingers is nearly rubbed raw after spending too many hours into the late night hand sewing these pieces. I still have many more to create but if you are lucky enough to be one of ladies signed up for Lisa Warninger's Boudoir shoot this weekend, you'll have the opportunity to wear these (inspired by Snippet & Ink inspiration board):

I'm still tweaking the mask a bit... but nearly finished.

The one below is for a Style Me Pretty Inspiration to Reality shoot:

These are not store-bought, pre-made flowers. The flowers are all made from scratch from silk and cotton fabric... I hand dye them, hand cut them, hand paint, hand press and then hand sew.... hence, my little fingers are a bit tired... and multi-colored.

I am continually becoming more and more critical of my work and that's been making me really try to push the envelope in terms of the complexity of my pieces and the originality. On a side note, since I started, I feel like everytime I try to make something totally original and apart from everything else out there, someone starts to copy it. It can be so frustrating... I keep telling myself, "f*#$ it... I'll create something new again and even more elaborate..." and then that gets copied.... it's a vicious cycle (sorry for the mini vent, but I work hard and it can be so exhausting and annoying). Gosh... I know I'm not the only designer who has to go through this (look at my favorite fernanimals). To all the Twigs & Honey friends, fans, brides, clients... thank you so much for all your support through the last two years!! I promise not to vent often! Twigs & Honey brings me such happiness and I like to be happy more than sad. :)

You have so much artistic capability, Myra!

I'm sure many of us wish we possessed that kind of talent and creativity! Don't get discouraged... they only copy you because they don't have the natural ability to innovate and dream up new ideas of their own.

Copies are just like cheap LV's and Gucci's you can pick up in any Chinatown, USA.

Besides, EVERYONE wants to own an ORIGINAL Twigs & Honey item!

I'll remain a fan... still not sure how I will accessorize for the big day, but I'm sure I'll be keeping up with your then-latest collection! :)

Imitation is the highest form of flattery... but nothing beats the real deal!! Myra your talent is something to be reckoned with!! You are the OG... and no matter how many "copiers" out there, the quality of your pieces will always outshine theirs!! I know you've been busy with so many custom orders.. but I'm really hoping to order something from you soon!! our ONE year anniversary is coming up, so I thought it would be such a neat idea to add a twigs and honey piece for every anniversary... i recieved so many beautiful comments on our wedding day!! Thanks again for working with me to create such a beautiful work of art!!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend Myra...

Wow... sorry for the "novel".. ha ha!!! :) I just love your work and wanted to express that.. i'll be a fan forever and a day!!!!

I totally feel your pain... we go through the same thing and it's totally awful. it's frustrating and disheartening. But, it's true- no one does it better than you! copies always look like copies and you're pieces are incredible. no wonder people want to copy them... (though they shouldn't) i LOVE the new ones- so soft, feminine and pretty.

It's okay, we still love you. Your work is absolutely gorgeous, and why I always say.... http://umama143.blogspot.com/2009/08/when-i-get-married.html

And just remember, brides always want to look like a million bucks, not just cheaper versions of the real thing!

These are beautiful! Now I really, really wish I hadn't had to cancel my spot at Lisa's shoot this weekend.

The pieces I bought from you for my wedding are still one of the things from the wedding that I get the most compliments on. :)

I'm just trying to find reasons to purchase many, many more of your beautiful, ORIGINAL pieces.

Your photos are fantastically beautiful and whimsical. I love the dreamy feeling.

It's a vicious cycle, but what's to do other than to keep on marching on with your chin held up high?

I'm sure that your buyers and faithful fans will always come back to you as at the end of the day, nothing beats the amazing quality of the original. =)

I am SO excited to hear this! I just got the email from Lisa too, and nearly squealed.

I was planning on bringing my simple wedding piece with me and I am so excited to here there will be even more twigs and honey at the shoot to play with, and such luxurious pieces at that!

    You truly spoil us.

Wow, Myra. Just...wow. I am absolutely in awe. I wish I could get married again every Saturday so I could be a twigs & honey bride every weekend. ;-) These pieces are absolutely beautiful.

Sister! I love them! I love them all. The mask is insane... I want one. Don't know where I'd wear it but I do truly want one. Cirque de Soleil would die for those.

Anyways, you should vent more often, then maybe all the copycats would give it a break. For example, all those chain stores that make them half as good for half the price. Sad. But... at least we all know you were the first. :) Good job!!!

OMG Myra! Those flowers are to-dye-for! I'm very lucky that I get to own some of your original!

What beautiful work! I really want one of your pieces. Not that I'm getting married again, but I'll find some where to wear it to. Just gorgeous! Keep it up and don't let the copycats get you down. Your work is truly wonderful.

My dearest Myra, i understand your frustration. As another accessories designer i sometimes feel dishearten when i see other products out there which are soooo similar to my own.

I admit to reading your blog and 'ooohhing' & 'aaaahing' over your beloved collection as a source for inspiration. However I could never do what you do. You've created your own 'signature' style and fans can recognize an original twigs & honey piece from miles away (or at least i know i can hehe)

Keep up the fantastic work! Whenever i'm asked who i look to for inspiration i always refer them to your site =)
