1 year Twigs & Honey anniversary :: Giveaway!

Posted on | Monday, January 19, 2009 | 246 Comments

These pieces were a couple special projects from this past year.

I meant to do this post a little sooner, but it's been so busy!
Anyhow, I wanted to thank everyone who worked with and supported me this past year with twigs & honey! I cannot believe how fast the year went by, but on January 25th, twigs & honey is celebrating 1 year since its first Etsy sale to this lovely lady. As a modest thank you (if I had more time, I would do something bigger), I am doing a giveaway on this blog. Starting today, January 19th, through midnight, January 25th, post a comment on this blog, copy and paste the link to your favorite twigs & honey piece, and describe why it is your favorite. You can navigate through all my past Etsy sales by clicking here. I'll choose someone randomly (yes! So everyone has a fair chance.) and the winner will receive a specially designed, one of a kind Valentine's Day twigs & honey hair piece. I'll try to post the picture later this week. I'll post a follow up blog post after January 25th, to announce the winner. Thank you to everyone following this blog and hooray for anniversaries!

A few of my favorites from last year:

    I love this one: http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=13167227

It is simple (I love simple!) but subtly complex with the addition of the feathers and crystals. Goregous.

    Keep up the beautiful work!

It's hard to pick a piece out of all your lovely concoctions, but this is one of my favorites:
    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=12381225

I love the combination of the two flowers, how the subtle differences in their hue and size complement each other. Love all your gorgeous pieces, Myra!

Goooodness gracious, it's hard to pick a favorite among 81 pages of beautiful pieces. I love the detachable nature of this birdcage veil/fascinator: http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=12986034

Buuut I think my overall favorite of the many pages I browsed is this li'l number:

    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=12920939

It's just so beautifully -different-! The mixture of leaves, lace, brooch, etc. is just stunning.

The aqua and cranberry color combination is to die for on this headpiece with birdcage veil:

    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=9106418

Definitely my favorite - I could see creating an entire wedding theme around this headpiece and how great would it look to have that extra pop of color to compliment a wedding gown.

Love it, Love everything about it! Your work is breathtaking as always.

I adore your bouts!! Im getting married in May and wish so badly that it was in my budget to have you do bouts for my guys and little hair pieces for my ladies, because I love everything you do!!! I love this color combo especially, http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=11984547. I would do something similar to this in deep purples and pinks. Keep up the creativity!!!

Wow! I have to pick just one favorite? Certainly a difficult task! These designs are truly one of a kind - your bridal patrons can feel so beautiful on their special day knowing that they are wearing something so unique!

While each and everyone of your hairpieces are breathtaking (I hope to wear one on my upcoming wedding day), my eyes keep on wandering back to the little bolero featured here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vt_related_1&listing_id=14189751. It radiates a delicate and feminine style that I believe will look just as beautiful in 30 years as it does today!

I look forward to seeing all that you will create in this new year! Happy 2009!

    My favorite is http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=12476639

I love how it makes me feel like a woman. I usually am not so into "girly" things, yet seeing this piece made me feel like a woman. I love the dark brown and fuschia combination. Feminie, yet strong. Calm yet bold. I like that birdcage is detachable. I love it because I feel like I can wear it on my wedding day...then reuse it when I go out on a date..anniversary dinner...party...etc....or to go grocery shopping without makeup on. I love how versatile it is!! I love it!!!!

Congratulations Myra! Your hair pieces are amazing! This is my favorite one:
    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=11069860

I browse your blog everyday (actually I check at least twice a day). You give me a lot of inspiration. I would never thought of using ribbon like what you did in this piece. I really like the knot that create a darker tone.

    Envy your talent, very creative!

I love the colors and textures in all of your work. The pieces are incredibly artistic and I love the complexity of the components that come together in each one. I loved the boutonniere linked below because I adore wheat and other natural grains.

    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=11903991

I found this one a few days ago and absolutely loved it. After going back and searching for it, I only now realize it was made one year ago! http://ny-image3.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.18211587.jpg

Its sophisticated with a little bit of sass. And the patterning on the feathers gives it a modern texture. Love love love it. And even though its a year old, its still fabulous.

    Hi,

Picking a favorite is a REALLY tough one. I love soo many pieces on your Etsy site. If I have to pick, I gues this is the one:

    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15531448

First of, purple is my personal favorite color ... the piece is delicate ... with the right combination of colors and textures.

    Love it!

I can't help but mention my second favorite: http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=12920939

It's the second favorite ONLY because it's not as colorful (I love colors!) But it's Beautiful!

how do you choose just ONE favorite? every creation is just perfect for a special event. i want one for a wedding, for a hot date, for a night out with the girls... but if i had to choose just one? it would be this stellar hairpiece:

    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=11762836

Congrats on the anniversary! I am new to your line, but I am gaga over it! All of the headpieces (especially the headbands!) are awesome, but my favorite thing I have seen is the shrug!

    http://twigsandhoney.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-piece-to-be-listed-today.html

It's so delicately unique. I have never seen anything like it in the bridal shops. It can be worn with so many dress styles and that is what makes it fabulous!

    Congratulations!
I'm so excited that you've made it this far! I wish you the best in the future. (:

I had a hard time choosing between this:
    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=13205794

    and this:
    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=13167227

However, I would have to say that the first one is my favorite. My favorite part of it is the two delicate beaded loops. That one tiny detail just wins me over!

I love how fun and informal it is. I don`t plan on wearing a headpiece myself (I have crazy curls...) but I know my eight year old flowergirl would love this for our garden wedding (and could wear it again and again...if her mom doesn`t steal it!)

    I looooove this one!
It's so beautiful with the crisp white and pearls, with just the right amount of feathers. I would love to have something like this for my wedding, since I'm doing a subtle bird motif...
