I am so sorry for any long reply times. I'm trying to get back to as many interested individuals as possible. Thank you so much for your patience!! Here is a current custom orders list. The order is not set in stone, and some clients may get shuffled if needed. My master list has drop dead dates recorded. If you are interested in a custom order or if you have been working with me but don't see your name, please contact me through etsy or email to let me know so I may record your order. At the moment, new custom orders may take as long as 8 weeks to complete, but may be finished sooner or later so plan ahead. Thank you!!

Don't you just love this silk organza shrug Elizabeth Dye made for me?? I had been meaning to take photos for a long time now! It is the exact one featured in Oregon Bride Magazine this season. I love, love, love it. I need to get a more lovely and long dress to wear with it. AND, I need Matt to take me out on the town so I have a good occasion to wear it to.

I know a while back I mentioned that our #1 pick for a trip was Istanbul. Well, we finally booked the tickets yesterday! I can't believe we paid for them already! It's exciting. I'll have more details in the coming weeks on this trip. We've been meaning to get away and this will be perfect. Speaking of Istanbul, I love this ring by toosis, who is in Istanbul. :)

I just listed the first of a new series of listings on Etsy. I'm trying to get more "ready to ship" pieces up in the shop and thought to create some special bargains while I was at it. Good for you! :)
As I find time, I'll list "perfectly paired" pieces in single listings on Etsy that are ready made and discounted as a set. It's great for last minute brides and ladies... or maybe even guys looking for a last minute gift for a special someone.

I'm sorry for such light posting over the last few weeks! Thank you for continuing to visit the blog, you hardcore bloggers! :)
I've been tremendously busy behind the scenes fulfilling orders and being a wife during this lovely warm and dry Oregon summer. Can you believe it is already August? I got painfully sick mid-late July and was being treated for that, which contributed to the trickle of posts, and now Matt and I are in the middle of planning our exotic second honeymoon. We haven't had a chance to really get away since our honeymoon. We always say we will, but end of cancelling and sticking closer to home because I'm so busy with work. I think we deserve to escape for a week, don't you?
Well, I'm sure you are sick of my Gilt Groupe posts about now, but I just wanted to post my recent steals. I love this festive Marc by Marc Jacobs dress I nabbed yesterday (on its way as I type):

I was thinking it would be good for wearing on the plane and during our long layovers (since we are going to get the cheapest airfare possible)... roll it up and shove into a suitcase afterwards. Plus, Matt won't be able to lose me since it is so "loud".

I also got this pair of tarte cheek stains. I always wanted these, but never wanted to fork over the $. :) I think these would be great while we travel too... easy to apply and so fresh looking.
So what was the total damage? Well, the dress retailed for near $300 and the cheek stains retailed for $56. I'm thinking of pairing the dress with my previous shoe purchase which retailed for nearly $700. So total retail for the outfit and makeup was supposed to be about $1050. What did I pay out of pocket with the Gilt discounts and credits (thank you lovely readers and shoppers for signing up through my link)? Drumroll.......

New piece in the Etsy shop

I just created a new piece for the etsy shop and photographed it with my camera... before shipping my camera off for repairs (I know I said I was going to do that weeks ago). So sadly... pictures may not be as *pretty* until the camera is back.

I am waiting for some more supplies (coming from France) for the Blue Bird garter. I've received a bunch of inquiries about it... I will try to have it relisted soon! In the meantime, I created another garter for the Etsy shop and you can view it HERE.

I've been working a bit more slowly since it's been so hot in Oregon (107 degrees!). I know Chelsea has similar sentiments. Wah-wah-wah.. right? It's okay if you have AC... but it is really hard to work in a boiling hot house if you don't have AC. I would stand there in my studio, not moving, and the sweat was dripping down my face. Well, like many Oregonians, Matt and I waited until too late to go AC shopping. Sold out just about at every store from Portland-Salem (I called everywhere). Anyhow, we just got a used one that is big enough for my studio room in the house and it is heaven. To celebrate the simple things in life, I created a simple, yet gorgeous handmade silk rose. It's in my Etsy shop HERE.

Aw~ just lovely:

This amazing photo shoot was taken in May on Mt. Hood in Oregon. Elianna Bar-El did the amazing styling and the spread was for the lovely Oregon Bride Magazine. I see several tops from the English Dept., including that amazing shrug that Elizabeth Dye made for me! There are a couple twigs & honey pieces in the shoot:

Just stunning. How funny that a few years ago, my MA thesis was on Mt. Hood, glaciers and environmental change. When I chose Mt. Hood as my region of study, I never thought that years later, I would have designed a couple pieces for a fashion shoot on the dormant volcano. Full circle. :)

shabd simon-alexander :: loving right now

I saw Shabd Simon-Alexander's work a few months ago on various blogs and bookmarked the site... I just loved everything (I am sure you have seen her work already). I recently started thinking about her fabulous dyed clothes and am now slightly obsessed. I guess it was one of those things that just grows and grows on you until you find yourself daydreaming a bit about it. Her new fall line should start to become available in a few weeks. I cannot wait! Here are a couple of favorite pieces including a top in her shop and a previous custom made dress:
