And the daddy of Indy is (drum roll) ...

Vader (Int. Ch. Huskavarna's Dark Alliance)!
Okay, okay, so I've posted about Indy a ton already, but just another one, pretty please? Just hang in there with me... as Indy grows up, her puppy spell over me might wear off... might. Plus, they will solve the financial crisis according to Natalie Portman and Rashida Jones (You must watch this video if you haven't already).
Previously, Indy's breeder wasn't exactly sure which of her boys got lucky (read previous post), so she had the puppies DNA tested and the results are in. :)
So Indy's parents are Gypsy (Int. Ch. Zuska'z Kossok Gypsy Dancer) and Vader (Int. Ch. Huskavarna's Dark Alliance). Yes, both parents are International Champions... good genes... no wonder she is such a cutie pie! Or as quoted from Peonies and Polaroids blog, "the cutest damn puppy in the whole bloggy world..." Thank you so much for thinking so (you must click on the above link. She has the cutest bunnies!).
I joke to Matt that I'm going to make Indy a little star and get her an acting gig so she can pay her own way - work for her own kibble! Here's her growing list of tricks (I must brag always. Matt and I don't have kids yet so all the attention goes to Indy):
1. Sit
2. Down
3. Stay
4. Jump
5. Crawl
6. Play dead
7. Roll over
8. Shake both hands
9. Which one? (treat hidden in hand)
10. Learning to take a bow
11. Fetch
12. ?
Here are some photos of Indy's parents:

Pulling is in Indy's family. I aspire to teach her to pull too. She has a ton of energy and I think she would love to tug my groceries for me! ;)

Proud pop.

Another of Vader.

Gypsy in competition.

Another of Gypsy.
And just to make you vomit from utter cuteness:

Indy's many faces.

Cute!

CUTE!!

Walk?

"I'm so fast!"

"Hello!"

Sitting pretty.

"Food? Please??"
New piece in the Etsy shop :: Bridal headband
I just listed a lovely new piece in my Etsy shop! I think this is such an elegant piece and can be worn by a bride to a wedding or for a special occasion. Enjoy!

Congrats to Stephanie and her now hubby, Lee, on getting married recently AND for getting their wedding featured in Portland Bride & Groom's Winter 2008 issue, on newsstands now!
Stephanie looks radiant wearing her twigs & honey handmade headband. She is also wearing a gorgeous dress by Elizabeth Dye. The wedding took place in Oregon and it looks stunning! I actually got to do an in person handoff, and met one of Stephanie's bridesmaids. You can view the headband here. Thank you Stephanie and Lee for sharing your beautiful wedding to the rest of us!
I also finally updated the "Press" section on the official twigs & honey website, which I meant to do ages ago. :) Take a look here and go to "Press".

And...
Ages ago, I said I would post the pictures of our wedding that was also featured in Portland Bride & Groom magazine. I finally scanned the pages, so here they are! Enjoy!

Thanksgiving recap
Matt and I spent Thanksgiving in Milwaukie and Hood River, Oregon this past holiday weekend. It was great to spend time with family and stuff our faces. Yes, food is a recurring theme in my blog posts. Love it!
At my parent's house, we had turkey and all the fixings plus some traditional Korean dishes. I loved all the leftovers I got to take home.
Indy celebrated her first Thanksgiving with us too and met my parent's pomeranian - this pom doesn't think she's a dog and threw a big fit at the sight of Indy. Nevermind that they were sporting matching holiday sweaters. ;)
Here are some pictures!:

Tons of yummy food, which means tons of leftovers!

Matt & Indy

Whoops! Looking the wrong way!

Matching sweaters!

Indy had the best time ever taunting my parent's pom. She liked to use her as a hurdle.

Indy really likes to be near feet.

New piece and weekend recap

Matt and I had a wonderful time chatting with brides and attendees to the Fall Bravo! Wedding Affair in downtown Portland. We accompanied our fabulous wedding photographers, Paul and Holly of Paul Rich Studio. Paul and Holly have had quite the year and it was great to view some of their gorgeous wedding albums. One twigs & honey hair piece was the raffle prize for a lucky winner and another lucky lady will be working with me on a custom hair piece, which was another raffle prize.
Matt and I also had a minute of fun visiting Paparazzi Tonight, who specialize in photo booths for wedding and special occasions. The photos are quick and fun and would be a blast for your wedding guests! The bonus is that they can be printed in mere seconds and later downloaded from home. Check out our pictures:

Very cool!
Like the hair piece I'm wearing? Well, I'm listing it in my Etsy shop for some special lady to enjoy! The day before the event, I knew I wanted to wear a hair piece and went back to an old favorite for inspiration, Marie Antoinette the movie. I was inspired by the film when planning our wedding and loosely based my wedding day hairstyle on those featured in the film. Over the weekend, I was particularly smitten with this look:

Source: The Costumer's Guide
Here's what I came up with:

I was going to wear it on top of my head like Kirsten in the movie, but Matt poo poo'd that idea and said to wear it off to the side. :)
Check it out in my Etsy shop!
Thank you so much Paul & Holly! Also, thank you to all the brides at the Bravo! event. I had a wonderful time chatting with everyone!

We're back! :: Short trip to Orlando
Matt and I had a great time in Orlando, FL last week for a business trip. It's nutty how things pile up FAST when you leave town! On top of the busy part of business, after we got back, Matt got sick, then I got sick, and our poor pup got sick too! I have been taking care of my two "babies".
While we were in Florida, we ate some great food and saw some Disney highlights. I couldn't believe the great 80+ degree weather. It was very humid, and the natural curl in my hair was loving it (though I tried to blow it out). Do other wavy/curly haired gals know what I'm talking about? It made me want to shave my head!
We didn't have a ton of time, but it was good for us to get outside! The whole Christmas decorations in warm weather was new for me. Holiday lights on palm trees... awesome!
I think one of my favorite parts of the trip was going to "Morocco" at Epcot for dinner with Matt. Delish!
Here are a few photo highlights:

Leaving Buena Vista Palace to go to DisneyWorld (right about now, I'm thinking about how my hair is getting curly)!

No lines at the Monorail in November!

First destination at DisneyWorld... Epcot!

I found this guy scurring across the sidewalk while we were walking to Downtown Disney. It then proceeded to pee and turn a bright green color.

Matt... the monster! Arrrh!

In Downtown Disney with my Lego dog. Indy would be so jealous!

At the awards dinner. I forgot to have a picture taken of us together. Oops! This will suffice. Like how we coordinated with the colors? I made Matt's pocket thing-a-mah-jig and he chose his tie. How cute!

Cool... black lights.

Look as this goofy guy. Matt and I were taking a lunch break at Tomorrowland in DisneyWorld when I spotted this bird. It wanted food of course, so I tossed it a bit of cream cheese filled pretzal. It didn't want it! What was midly disturbing was that when I tossed it a bit of turkey leg meat, it gobbled it up. I hope they are very, very distant relatives in the world of birds.

I asked a nice old lady to take our picture in front of Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom. I didn't realize until later, that you can't really see much of the Castle in this photo. ;)

Success!

The biggest gingerbread house I have ever seen!

Inside the Grand Floridian.
That's all!
Short Business Trip :: Orlando, FL
Posted on | Monday, November 10, 2008 | 6 Comments
I'll be away from Tuesday (11/11) to Saturday (11/15). Matt and I are heading across the U.S. to Orlando, FL for business.
Just a super last minute question to anyone familiar with Orlando. Do you have any recommendations for a great place to go shopping? I'm looking for possibly a nice street I can visit with unique boutiques, all within walking distance from each other. Preferably not a "mall". I know, I know... cutting it close! I won't really have much time to shop, but if I get an hour or two, I'd like to squeeze it in. ;)
Thank you! -Myra
p.s. I know my blog posts and shop updates were limited last week. I have been scrambling to get orders finished before our trip AND Matt and I have been working on financial planning and taxes - it's a ton of work! Expect a post in the new year about it and tips on starting your own business (I'm thinking of doing a little series). My head is drowning in numbers right now!
Redundancy is good... when it involves puppies!!

Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful comments on the previous puppy post. Indy is such a bundle of joy and Matt and I brag about her to everyone because you know... she is the best dog in the whole wide world in our eyes.
She is so quick to learn and I don't even give her enough credit. It has been less than one week and she knows that it is bad to go potty indoors... only, I didn't know she knew! At 1:00am last night, she cried and whined and I scolded her for being so loud when Matt was asleep. Then I thought... "hmmmmm.." and took her outside and she really had to do her business. I felt so bad! She was trying to tell me something!
If she could read, her head would be huge from all the sweet comments about her. Here are just a few more photos from yesterday. I couldn't resist!

"I don't know... looks like a shady guy to me."

"Maybe this isn't so bad."

"Tastes okay."
Update: Poor doll is now missing an arm and stuffing.

"Arf!"

"Peekaboo!"

"Bleh!"

"Woof!"
