New piece in the Etsy shop
Posted on | Friday, July 31, 2009 | 6 Comments
I just created a new piece for the etsy shop and photographed it with my camera... before shipping my camera off for repairs (I know I said I was going to do that weeks ago). So sadly... pictures may not be as *pretty* until the camera is back.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!!
Romantic new garter in the Etsy shop
Posted on | Thursday, July 30, 2009 | 4 Comments
I am waiting for some more supplies (coming from France) for the Blue Bird garter. I've received a bunch of inquiries about it... I will try to have it relisted soon! In the meantime, I created another garter for the Etsy shop and you can view it HERE.
I'm slowly taking custom garter requests if you are interested and are not seeing the perfect piece. Email or convo me for details.
Hot!
Posted on | Wednesday, July 29, 2009 | 5 Comments
I've been working a bit more slowly since it's been so hot in Oregon (107 degrees!). I know Chelsea has similar sentiments. Wah-wah-wah.. right? It's okay if you have AC... but it is really hard to work in a boiling hot house if you don't have AC. I would stand there in my studio, not moving, and the sweat was dripping down my face. Well, like many Oregonians, Matt and I waited until too late to go AC shopping. Sold out just about at every store from Portland-Salem (I called everywhere). Anyhow, we just got a used one that is big enough for my studio room in the house and it is heaven. To celebrate the simple things in life, I created a simple, yet gorgeous handmade silk rose. It's in my Etsy shop HERE.
A couple new pieces :: Etsy shop update
Posted on | Friday, July 24, 2009 | 4 Comments
It's about time I listed a couple new pieces in my shop, yes? I LOVE this new "Twirl" bridal hair piece. It is so floaty, lightweight, yet completely glamorous:

And a petite and delightful addition...

Both in my Etsy shop right now. Happy Friday!
Little updates

I'm so sorry if anyone hopped over to my online shop over the weekend and didn't see anything there. I just found out late last night that something with my host company changed and for some strange reason, my shop disappeared. Anyhow, all is fixed now, but the url is different so update your bookmarks. :)
To shop right now at Twigs & Honey click HERE (twigsandhoney.com/catalog).
This week, I need to send my camera in for repairs, so expect to see lesser quality photos for a couple weeks. I'm so sad. :*(
AND! I'm not totally sure what they will use, but if you happen to watch the Early Show on CBS tomorrow (Wednesday from 7-9am), look out to see if you see some Twigs & Honey pieces. They chose this one and this one. Crossing my fingers.
Oh! And I thought I'd post a few photos I recently received from Loren, a lovely bride I worked with over a year ago now. Time flies! Congratulations, Loren and hubby!

I love this design and so I decided to recreate it and list it in my etsy shop. I originally created it for A Lovely Workshop. Here is one of my favorite photos by Elizabeth Messina from the shoot:

It's a very easy going piece and perfect for an unfussy, carefree bride or for everyday. Find it HERE.

Few new pieces in the Etsy shop

I never have time anymore to create pieces for myself and I always kick myself when I throw on an outfit and hit the town with Matt without a perfect little topper. Over the holiday weekend, Matt and I worked the earth, hard, and got much of the front sidewalk garden finished. It took three days over a couple weekends, but it is 100% better. I'll have to take pictures soon! Anyhow, I treated myself to a couple pieces. One of my favorite current designs is Mist. I made two for myself, finally... in a lovely blush pink/champagne, and one in bright turquoise. I love them so much I threw up a couple made to order listings in my Etsy shop for others to enjoy. Click HERE to view the pink one and HERE for the turqoise version.

U-handbag :: Love it and recommend it!
Posted on | Tuesday, May 5, 2009 | 2 Comments
I found this great Etsy shop the other day: U-handbag
I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys DIY and stylish little things. You can purchase kits to make lovely purses and nearly everything you need is included. I think the only things I had to provide after the kit arrived were scissors, a sewing machine, glue, pins and time. Plus it came so quickly. I purchased it on a Monday and it arrived at the end of the week from London... all the way to the west coast of the U.S. Awesome. On Sunday, Matt and his little brother worked on house remodeling, so I sat there for just 1 hour and cranked this baby out. Matt and Eli were completely impressed. I believe the words were, "wow! that looks so professional!" ... but alas, I really have U-handbag to thank! Here is the picture on the listing:

Here are the results:

Just like the pictures! Easy to make too!
Find your own kit on the U-handbag Etsy shop HERE, or online shop HERE.
Only $25.50 for the whole kit and shipping from the UK. Plus, you can reuse the pattern over and over again, so you just need to buy the fabric and hardware the next go around. I think this would be a great project for an entire bridal party.
New piece in my Etsy shop! :: First of the 2009/2010 Winter collection
I just listed a lovely piece in my Etsy shop that is a bit of a sneak peak to the winter 09/10 collection coming in a couple months. I used lots of lovely bits as it was originally designed for a magazine shoot. Enjoy!

Blue Pacific
Rise and shine necklace :: Pink confectionary treat for your neck
Posted on | Thursday, April 30, 2009 | 12 Comments
I talked with my big sis on the phone this morning and she asked if I could make her a necklace similar to the one I made for the English Dept. Fashion show a couple months ago:

She also really liked this Anthropologie necklace:

But... she wanted it in blush pinks and super soft fabrics for her sensitive skin. Voilà! Here are the results:

Countless, supple layers of blush pink silks, tulle, chiffon on hand dyed self tie ribbon. I rarely get to make anything for myself anymore... but I really hate to part with this one. Alas, my sister will get this one soon!
I'm thinking of listing this piece in my Etsy shop as a "made to order" number. Would this interest anyone?
Update: Made to Order listing is up in my Etsy shop HERE. Thank you, everyone, for your sweet comments!!
Great news! :: New online store is almost here!
Posted on | Tuesday, April 7, 2009 | 4 Comments
I've been on overdrive for the last few months with so many projects that one important one kind of kept getting put on hold.
I just wanted to leak that a new fabulous store is in the works (okay, I announced it on my website... but I don't think I blogged about it!).
The new store will have lots of styles and options - including hair pieces, veils, headbands, a new bridal hat line, and some surprises. I have to get it streamlined and polished up at the moment, but it should be working very soon, so for anyone who has been unable to reach me through emails, hang tight and the new store might be just the thing! I'll make a major announcement when it is LIVE!

Just for kicks. :)
